Communicating without words
For our current Unit “Life is But a Stage”, we have been learning about non-linguistic communication. We usually answer questions by saying “I am!” or “It’s mine!” and say things like “Thank you!” using words, but how can we say these things without words?
One day at Preschool, the kids had just returned their library books, when a strange and bad man came into the Preschool room. He taped everybody’s mouths, and took everybody’s library bags!! Oh no!!
He then held up each bag one by one and said, “I will give you back your library bag ONLY if you can tell me that it is yours! But your mouths are taped! HA HA HA!!” Then he held up each asked everyone, “Who’s bag is this?” The kids came up with different ways to say, “It’s mine!!”
All the kids were successful in getting their bags back. Well done, Preschool!
