Background

Worked in a British trading company, medical center in Los Angeles, and an education company. Married and moved to USA, had 3 daughters. While raising her children she was concerned about their “studies” as their language skills developed. As she looked for a school for her children, she got involved with TCS. The children have moved in and out, but her passion towards children who would carry the future remains the same until today.

Philosophy

Stand on your own! Try to enjoy everything! Get back to the “starting point”.

Like/Good at

Any sport (playing rather than viewing). Volleyball, scuba diving. I like the outdoors but also sewing and making accessories.

Tokyo Community School

Tokyo Community School (TCS) is a full-time micro school for children from ages 3 to 12, located in Nakano, Tokyo.
Children engage in inquiry-based learning and ICT-based personalized learning through small class sizes and mixed-aged level groupings.
TCS consists of the international Preschool which caters to children aged 3 to 6, and the Primary school which caters to children aged 7 to 12.
The curriculum in the Preschool is delivered in English, and the curriculum of the Primary division is delivered in Japanese.
As an educational non-profit organization (NPO), TCS functions as an educational think tank, performing research and advocacy surrounding curriculum development and rich learning experiences for children.
